Fr. Sopocko

We often think of St. Faustina’s spiritual director, Bl. Fr. Michael Sopoćko (feast day: Feb. 15), as merely the primary witness of her sanctity, and perhaps as the agent that God used to arrange the painting of the Image of the Divine Mercy. But he was so much more than that!

The appeal to God's Mercy is interwoven through the whole fabric of the Christian faith. But precisely because it is so familiar, much of its deeper meaning is often overlooked.

Father Michael Sopoćko (1888-1975), now beatified by the Church, was the priest-confessor to St. Faustina and, as such, an incredible man of mercy. Join Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, as he introduces this great theologian, the principal instrument that Our Lord used to fashion the soul of St. Faustina, and learn how he commissioned the very first Image of Divine Mercy. Then hear how the message of Divine Mercy has brought joy and hope to an autistic boy named Royce Guzman and his family.

In a timely reflection for Divine Mercy Sunday, St. Faustina’s spiritual director, Bl. Fr. Michael Sopoćko, tells about the Image of Jesus, the Divine Mercy.

With all reasonable doubt removed Fr. Sopocko began putting the Lord's requests to Faustina into action.
