Our Lady of Sorrows

On Sept. 14, the Church celebrates the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and on Sept. 15, the Church celebrates Our Lady of Sorrows. It’s about how our suffering becomes redemptive, how our enduring of evil becomes a powerful force for good, explains Fr. Dan Cambra, MIC.

This has been a shocking year for political assassinations. As we pick up the pieces, Our Lord, Christ Crucified, and Our Lady, she of the Seven Sorrows, need to be our model, this month and always.

This September, make the Seven Sorrows Rosary a regular part of your prayer life, and see how your life changes.

September 14 and 15 mark back-to-back feast days on the liturgical calendar, with the feasts of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. Join Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC as he shares some important details regarding these two wonderful feast days we have in the Church!

September is the month of Our Lady of Sorrows, also called Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. Father Chris Alar, MIC, explains why the feast, celebrated on Sept. 15, is one of the most popular Marian feasts in the Catholic Church. Then hear the story of Daniel Hidalgo, who struggled with sin in his life but ultimately found redemption through the sorrow of the Cross.
