St. Joseph

Monday, Sept. 1, is Labor Day, a secular holiday, to be sure, but also a day when every Catholic should remember and honor the first among the saints, second only to the Blessed Virgin Mary and God Himself: St. Joseph.

Saint Joseph is also known by a remarkable title: “Terror of Demons.” Father Donald Calloway, MIC, explains how this reminds us of St. Joseph’s powerful intercession and his role as a spiritual warrior. Then hear the story of Fr. Richard Conlin, whose early years found him more devoted to his golf game than the Church. But he soon found himself deeply influenced by St. Joseph.

The Solemnity on March 19 reminds us that devotion to St. Joseph, spouse of the Virgin Mary and foster father of Jesus, has never been stronger!

As we celebrate Father’s Day, let us remember the Father who is in Heaven from whom all fatherhood takes its name, says Chris Sparks. Let us remember that God the Father is rich in mercy, and that St. Joseph, model of earthly fatherhood, is most remembered for his silence, not his dominance; for his wife and Son, whom he tended with such effective love and dedication, not for his earthly power.

"The Three Merciful Hearts are beating in unison as the perfect example for every family," says Br. Eliott, MIC. "Cultivating devotion to the Three Hearts will help every Catholic imitate their virtues and bring their powerful intercession to our world, so badly in need of conversion."

Does St. Joseph have a tomb, and where is it located? Do we know what happened to his body? Hear Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, as he offers some insight into this mystery about the protector of Our Savior on earth!

There are many ways to deepen your devotion and relationship with St. Joseph. Fr. Donald Calloway offers a few key ideas for consideration and it’s still not too late to enroll and participate in the Marians’ Novena to St. Joseph, which begins March 11, 2023.

Episode 112 with Duane and Carrie Daunt
Duane and Carrie Daunt share with us today thoughts on their book, “Man Your Post - Learning to Lead Like St. Joseph.” It is available at their ministry website JPIIHealingCenter.org. The book outlines virtues needed with personal witness from a variety of contributors including a former major league All-Star player, a priest, a family physician, a counselor, and more.

Join our special guest host, Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, the author of Consecration to St. Joseph, as he discusses Saint Joseph as an example of a father in earthly terms, and as a prototype of 'Abba' - God, the Father to the Christ Jesus here on earth.

A poetic reflection on St. Joseph the Worker, on his feast day.
