The Epiphany

The Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, observed this year on Jan. 4, celebrates the manifestation of Our Lord to the whole world, being revealed to the Magi as they travelled from the East to come and adore Him. Brother Christopher Orante, MIC explains.

On Sunday, Jan. 8, we celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord. Come, let us adore the newborn King as the Magi did.

Fr. Chris Alar gives you the schedule for upcoming talks, videos, shows, and events from the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy for the month of January. This way you won't miss anything to help your soul in your spiritual journey!

What is the true meaning of the Epiphany and why is it one of the most important days in the Church calendar? Fr. Chris Alar explains what you didn't know, but need to know, about this season.

The Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the Magi, or wise men from the East, visiting the Christ child and bringing Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Upon first hearing this, one has to shake his head and think, "Odd gifts for a newborn."
