The Virgin Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, a Solemnity we observe on Aug. 15 (and a Holy Day of Obligation), is a sure sign and reminder to us of what we ultimately hope for as Christians: the reunification of our physical bodies with our spiritual souls upon the general Resurrection.

We celebrate one of the greatest mysteries of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Aug. 15. How do we know her Assumption really happened?
