St. Augustine

Episode 101 with Patti Maguire Armstrong and Roxanne Beauclair Salonen
For Parents whose Children have Left the Faith

The man who wrote his autobiography, Confessions, had reason enough to praise the infinite mercy of God.

Let us return to the writings of the Patristic scholar Henry Chadwick and his summary of St. Augustine's fully developed doctrine of salvation.

St. Augustine was born in 354 A.D. in a small town in what is now Algeria, North Africa. His father was a pagan, but his mother was a devout Christian believer, later canonized and known to the whole Catholic world as St. Monica.

We all know someone who has left the faith and left us heartbroken. But there is hope! With God's grace, the help of the Saints, and your own contribution, their conversion can happen.

To mark the feast day of one of the Church's deepest thinkers, read an excerpt from Divine Mercy: A Guide from Genesis to Benedict XVI.

When we feel like there is no hope for our lost loved ones and no amount of prayers seem to work, Fr. Chris Alar gives us an inspiring lesson and example in St. Monica and St. Augustine.
