The Marian Fathers in Medjugorje

An announcement of the acceptance by the Marian Fathers to the invitation of chaplaincy for English-speaking pilgrims in Medjugorje

On behalf of the Very Reverend Chris Alar, Provincial Superior of the Mother of Mercy Province of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception in the United States, and in response to the call of the Church and the pastoral needs of the pilgrims, we would like to announce officially that the Marians Fathers have accepted the invitation to the role of chaplaincy to English-speaking pilgrims in Medjugorje.

As of March 1, 2026, Fr. Jason Lewis, MIC, will assume the role as Chaplain, and Fr. Matthew Lamoureux, MIC, as Assistant Chaplain.

On behalf of Fr. Chris, we thank our Marian Helpers, friends, and family for their prayers and support in this new Marian mission. We ask that you pray for our brothers, Fr. Jason and Fr. Matt, for an abundance of grace in their new positions through the intercession of Our Lady, the Queen of Peace and Mother of Divine Mercy.

Thank you and God bless you.
