There is no greater joy then to share God's inexhaustible mercy with others.

Mother of Mercy Messengers

Meet MOMM

In January 2001, Dave and Joan Maroney became known as Mother of Mercy Messengers, MOMM, witnessing to their consecration to Our Lady and dedicating themselves to spreading the message of The Divine Mercy.

They are a lay outreach of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception and their ministry is dedicated to taking the heart of the Mercy message emanating from the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, to local parishes and schools.

"There are many needs in the field," says Joan. MOMM's programs not only educate — they inspire and are a source of renewal. A variety of unique and dramatic programs provide parishes and communities with the ability to reach as many souls as possible, no matter where they are in their spiritual journey. For those who do not know anything about Divine Mercy, MOMM programs will inform them of all the basics. However, even the most familiar with the message and devotion find that they are taken to a deep level of understanding, a greater awareness of God's love and mercy.

Dave and Joan have great conviction that the more people blessing the world with God's mercy, the more He will heal it. They encourage souls to do their part through good works, kind words, and fervent prayers. Particularly important is placing complete trust in God, forgiving trespasses and trespassers, respecting all life, praying for the conversion of sinners, and especially praying for the sick and the dying.

After reflecting on the moving words of Jesus to us from the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, time with Him in the Eucharist is very powerful.  As Jesus is placed on the altar, we often sense His rays of mercy pouring forth from the Eucharist out upon the people.

People are visibly touched. This is made evident by the fact that so many decide to meet Christ further in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Many priests have testified that they have heard exceptional confessions after a presentation. Many people have been moved to this sacrament after many years away from it — sometimes 20 or 30. They are suddenly able to unburden themselves of serious offenses and past hurts. A wonderful and elderly priest in Connecticut said it this way, "The proof is in the pudding, and I heard many very good confessions."

What is next?

Dave and Joan are humbled by the tremendous response to their programs, but they are quick to note that it is not them, but the grace of God, pouring forth through the opportunity they are able to create for the time of prayer and reflection and reception of the sacraments.

The country is big, and the world is bigger. Since MOMM cannot possibly make live presentations everywhere, they have been working to make them available in a variety of formats. Programs are available on cassette tape, audio compact disc, video cassette, and DVD. Plans are in the works to enable the moving "Tell All Souls about My Mercy" program to be presented in a variety of countries across the world by international teams. Jesus said to tell the whole world about his mercy, and MOMM is doing their best to do so.
